Murdoch Books is pleased to announce it will publish The Truth Will Set You Free, But First It Will Piss You Off! by Gloria Steinem later this year, in Australia on 5 November and the United Kingdom on 1 November.
The hardback book is a stunningly illustrated collection of Steinem’s reflections, anecdotes and most powerful and pithy quotes, forming a treatise on what she believes matters most to women today.
For decades people from around the world have found inspiration, guidance, humour and recognition in Steinem’s words. Since her early days as a journalist and feminist activist, Steinem’s philosophies have helped define generations of women.
‘The time is perfect for a collection that not only celebrates Gloria Steinem’s huge contribution to feminism but brings new readers to her work and words,’ publisher Jane Morrow said.
This memorable anthology covers topics including relationships, work and activism, and features an introduction written by Steinem earlier this year.
Publishing Director Lou Johnson says Steinem’s new book is a perfect addition to the conversation-starters category on the Murdoch Books list.
‘We couldn’t be more excited to welcome one of the world’s most revered and influential thought leaders to Murdoch Books. Gloria Steinem’s contribution to the global conversation on feminism is extraordinary and we are thrilled to be playing a role in bringing that conversation to people around the world. On a personal level, this is exactly the kind of book I want to share with my daughters,’ Johnson said.
